Pet Friendly Living Room

The sitting room was one of our client’s main concerns as although they weren’t currently using the space it was an eyesore being the first room off the entry foyer. Monique’s task was to set the stage for the rest of the home which was receiving renovations after 23 years.

Location: Upper Marlboro, MD

Project Overview:

The living room was updated by removing the pillars and as part of the renovation the staircase spindles were replaced. The carpets were replaced with vinyl plank flooring which is durable and attractive.

We placed four chairs centered around a round coffee table to allow for entertaining guests and great conversation. As part of the design, Monique’s team were challenged to make sure the house was pet friendly which they achieved with hypoallergenic rugs, performance fabrics and vinyl wood-look plank flooring.

The light color palette is accented with simple patterns in teal. The entry is light and airy during the day and can be transformed into entertaining space in the evening with subdued lighting.
