A Love of Abstract Art

This primary bedroom was designed for a client who wanted a complete transformation. Most of her furniture had been with her for over 25 years, and she hadn’t updated the space since moving in. She envisioned a relaxing retreat where the bed would take center stage. As an art gallery professional with a love for abstract pieces, she had a clear preference for a blue and yellow color scheme but needed guidance in embracing a bolder design than the muted tones found in the rest of her home. The only pieces she wanted to keep were her dressers, which were in excellent condition.

Location: Upper Marlboro, MD

Project Overview:

To bring her vision to life, our team started by sourcing fabrics in her preferred color palette, allowing the design to take shape organically. A striking headboard became the room’s focal point, beautifully complemented by an eye-catching custom Vahallan wallpaper accent. We extended the design into her connected sitting room, ensuring a seamless flow between the spaces.

The result is a space she absolutely loves—one that reflects her artistic taste while incorporating refreshed, contemporary elements. Excited by the transformation, she has continued working with us, planning to redesign her entire home.
